I was born in Greenville South Carolina but mainly grew up in the northeast near Scranton PA. Volunteering was always important to me and it began in junior high school in Scranton. I attended college while in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
When the Twin Towers were struck on September 11th, 2001 my unit was activated and we were deployed within a few months to Bosnia and Herzegovina. When we returned from our deployment, I requested a conditional release from the National Guard so that I may continue serving full-time Active Duty Army. I was stationed in Baumholder Germany. The next year deployed we deployed to Iraq. When I completed my service in 2007, I left the military in 2007 and moved to Maryland for civilian employment.
I enjoyed living in the Baltimore Metro area and began volunteering activities there, especially with the homeless population. In 2009 I joined the Maryland Army National Guard. I missed military service, so I returned to part-time service.
• In 2011 we deployed to Egypt and when I returned and began fulltime service within the Maryland Army National Guard’s AGR force. I really began volunteering more in the Baltimore area seeing the need in underserved communities there. My purpose in life has become increasingly clearer as time moves along. Serving others while reconciling culture and always standing up against injustice. The killing of Eric Garner by NYC Police completely galvanized my desire to fight systemic racism.
• In 2016 the idea of The Real-Time App began. The murder of Philando Castile, the terrorist attacks in Nice France and the murder of protestors in Charlottesville VA prompted the building of The Real-Time App for the purpose of digital advocacy through a platform that could deliver geographically verifiable pictures and videos that would guarantee the accuracy of time and location. This process took nearly three years and in August 2019 the app was launched.
• In 2020 I redoubled by effort in the community when the COVID19 pandemic began. Currently serving as vice president of Southeast Youth & Families Engagement Organization. Additionally, serving with “We Are Us” an incredible organization determined to stop the violence and bring unity, peace, love,
and resources to the residents of Baltimore. Continually seeking to “Find the Good and Point it Out”
• In 2021 we are launching the Android version and improving the ways in which we serve humanity.

Call me Rico. My wife, Gina, and I are based out of Scottsdale, Arizona. I was born in Puerto Rico and have lived in Florida, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and California before moving to Arizona in 2005. I had a 'traditional' American life with a college education and 10+ year career in Information Technology and Project Management before realizing this was not my path any longer.
Soon after meeting each other in 2018 and falling in love, we were engaged and married within a year. We aligned on a vision to be free, travel, and create a family. Cancer derailed our plans.
In 2019 my fiance, at the time, was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the journey began. We continue to face this challenge as we conquer others. Both were able to get out of the "rat race" and begin working for ourselves. We dabbled in e-commerce before settling with Short Term Rentals. It has been 2.5 years, and we run a successful business renting our two homes supporting our vision. As one success leads to another, we find ourselves as investors and in a position to help our tribes.
In 2021, while learning about a new social app called Clubhouse (CH), I met Preston in a CH room discussing China and Asian Markets regarding entrepreneurs seeking to enter the regions. Preston spoke, asked the moderators for advice, and was given only one - not to try. That the "big boys" in the area dominate, I felt he deserved a better response. So I responded to him personally, and here we are.
As the new kids on the block, we hope to learn from this tribe and create action items for The Real Time App. In a way, a start-up reminds me of myself when at the age of 9, my parents brought my sister and me to a strange large country where I knew nothing, not even the language. It takes so many qualities to survive strange new places, I've learned. Yet as I look back at the many challenges, the one strength that kept everything together was my heart. I now realize our hearts are our higher intelligence, not the mind. I lead with my heart and use integrity as a compass.
We look forward to meeting all of you.
